Conference Calling

Conference calling is one of the most widely used services of telecommunications companies by techno-savvy executives. The feature basically allows you to call multiple parties at the same time. This is very useful when you need to make important decisions that require input from certain individuals in your organization immediately. There is also an option wherein you do all the talking and the other parties simply listen.

Most conference calling services are served in two variants. One allows you to simply dial everyone in your list of contacts; i.e., you perform everything that needs to be done by yourself. The other one is an operator-assisted service where virtually each procedure, from dialing to introducing the parties involved, is performed by an operator.

Some software applications that are downloadable from the Web provide conference calling features. Improvements to this particular service are growing by leaps and bounds since the development of VoIP. Some Web-based applications even allow you to record your conversations, and provide such services for free. Conference calling used to be a service that only the large telecommunications companies monopolized on. This limited its exposure to only a few elite individuals in the corporate world. Now, it can be used on the Internet by practically anybody.
